Can I Kick It? (Yes I Can)

This is dope. Part of a hoppin Tribe Called Quest gig in Brooklyn in late 1990. We catch the band midway through “Footprints,” then get full versions of “Can I Kick It” and “Bonita Applebum.” Yo, you gotta put me on. Bonita, Bonita, Bonita.

But it doesn’t stop there. Kool G Rap, his dancers Shawn and Kenny, and Biz Markie (RIP) also appeared at this show. Dig G Rap spittin “Rhymes I Express” over “Rebel Without A Pause.”

Poetry slavery biters observe
This is hip-hop your optical nerve
Deserves no need to explain
Plain simple, created by the temple
The brain, maintain order with pain
